General settings
Title
This is the main title used for the app.
Use your business or brand name, or the wording you want shown within the app experience.
Sub title
This is the secondary title or supporting text for the app.
This can be left simple, such as a tagline or short description.
Base URL
This is the main website URL the app uses when tab navigation is not enabled.
In most cases, this will be your main website homepage or the main starting page for your app.
Deeplink
This is the deeplink value used by the app.
This is usually configured as part of the technical app setup and should normally only be changed if instructed by Hoofpick/Apparati.
Select font
This allows you to choose the main Google font used in the app.
Choose a font that matches your branding and remains easy to read on mobile devices.
Loader settings
Select loader style
This controls the loading animation shown while pages or content are loading in the app.
You can choose from a number of styles such as rotating, bouncing, fading, ring, ripple, and more.
Loader colour
This sets the colour used by the loading animation.
It should normally match your app colour scheme.
Pull refresh
When enabled, users can pull down on supported screens to refresh the page or content.
This can be useful for keeping content up to date, but should only be enabled if it suits your app’s content and navigation flow.
Play Video Inline
When enabled, videos can play inline within the app instead of always opening in a separate fullscreen view.
Home app bar icon status (right)
This controls whether the right-hand icon in the home app bar is shown.
This setting is tied to the app’s header configuration and may be used alongside the Header and Navigation setup elsewhere in the App Centre.
Drawer Menu Logo
This section allows you to upload the logo used in the app’s drawer menu and control its size.
Logo
Upload the image you want shown in the drawer menu.
A PNG file usually works best for logos.
Logo Width
Set the display width of the drawer logo.
Logo Height
Set the display height of the drawer logo.
Use sensible proportions so the logo displays clearly without looking stretched or oversized.
Layout Category Menus
This section controls the appearance of category screens in the app.
It includes settings for both:
- Main Screen
- Sub Screens
Column Number
Controls how many items appear across each row.
Higher numbers show more items per row, but each item becomes smaller.
Ratio (Width:Height)
Controls the shape of the item blocks.
For example, a wider ratio creates wider blocks, while a lower ratio creates taller-looking blocks.
Padding
Controls the spacing around items.
Font Size
Controls the text size used for category labels.
Radius
Controls the corner roundness of category blocks.
A higher value creates more rounded corners.
Icon Size
Controls the size of icons on the main category screen.
Select Label Alignment
Controls whether labels are aligned left, centre, or right on sub screens.
Layout Collection Menus
This section controls the appearance of collection screens in the app.
As with categories, it includes settings for:
- Main Screen
- Sub Screens
These settings work in the same way as the category layout settings:
- Column Number
- Ratio
- Padding
- Font Size
- Radius
- Label Alignment
Use these options to keep your collection screens visually consistent with the rest of the app.
Search Manager
This section controls the built-in app search feature on category and collection screens.
Enable Search
Turn this on to show the app search function.
Turn it off if you do not want search to appear.
Enable Salesfire Search
This enables Salesfire-specific search behaviour.
This is only relevant if your website search uses Salesfire. If you are unsure, leave this off unless Hoofpick/Apparati has advised otherwise.
Search Placeholder
This is the text shown inside the search box before the user starts typing.
Example:
- Search products
- Search the app
- What are you looking for?
Search URL
This is the website search URL the app uses to perform searches.
This must be a valid search URL from your website for the search feature to work correctly.
UTM Manager
This section allows the app to append UTM tags to URLs viewed within the app, helping you continue campaign tracking inside the app environment.
Enable UTM
Turn this on if you want the app to append UTM parameters to links opened in the app.
utm_campaign (append to existing)
This is used to add extra campaign wording when a URL already includes a UTM campaign value.
utm_source
Defines the traffic source for app visits.
utm_medium
Defines the traffic medium.
utm_campaign (Home)
Defines the campaign value used for home traffic where no existing campaign value is present.
These settings are useful for businesses that already use Google Analytics or other analytics tools and want to track app traffic more clearly.
Best practice
- Keep your title, subtitle, colours, and font aligned with your brand
- Test layout changes carefully before making further adjustments
- Use search only if your website search URL is working correctly
- Only enable Salesfire search if your website uses Salesfire
- Only change deeplink or technical tracking values if you understand their purpose
- Use UTM tracking only if you actively review campaign data in analytics
Important note
Some settings on this page affect the structure and behaviour of the app quite broadly. If you are unsure about search URLs, deeplinks, or UTM setup, please contact Hoofpick/Apparati before making changes.
